Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) is a prominent public university, established in 2001 to fill a critical need for specialized education in science and technology disciplines in Bangladesh. Located in Tangail, a region historically significant for its cultural heritage, the university is named after Mawlana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani, an esteemed political leader and advocate for the underprivileged, reflecting its mission to promote inclusive and sustainable development through education.
The university officially commenced academic activities in 2003 with the first batch of students in two departments: Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Over the years, MBSTU has expanded significantly, now offering a wide array of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across diverse fields such as engineering, natural sciences, life sciences, and business.
